Contents
In this topic the motion of active particles in non-Newtonian fluids is introduced. An overview of various non-Newtonian flow behaviors, e.g. viscoelasticity, shear-thinning and shear-thickening, is provided as a background to understand the differences with respect to swimming mechanisms in Newtonian fluids.
